Maharashtra recorded a total of 53,249 recoveries taking the total number of discharged patients to 47,07,980. The recovery rate in the state stands at 88.7%. Uttar Pradesh recorded 26,179 recoveries which now puts the total of recovered patients at 13,85,855. The state has a recovery rate of 86.8%. Kerala saw 31,319 COVID recoveries in the last 24 hours. In total, there have been 16,36,790 recuperations since the pandemic began. The recovery rate stands at 78.5%.
India on 15th May reported 3.26 lakh new infections of COVID-19 in last 24 hours, taking the total caseload in the country to 2.43 crore since the pandemic began last year.
The active cases in the country now stand at 36,73,802, as of Saturday. As many as 3,980 fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours, which took the total toll in the country to 2,66,207.
Amid the rise in daily cases that are continuously hovering over three-lakh mark, the only positive comes in the form of those who have recuperated as India saw more recoveries than infections.
A total of 3,53,299 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours. The total recovery rate in India now stands at 83.83%.

Delhi recorded a total of 14,140 recoveries of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 12,88,280. The recovery rate in the national capital stands at 93.3%.

In Madhya Pradesh, as many as 11,671 recoveries were recorded. The state has a recovery rate of 84.5%. West Bengal saw 19,131 patients recover from the virus. It puts the state's recovery rate at 86.8%. In the southern state of Karnataka, a total of 35,879 patients were discharged following treatment. The recovery rate now stands at 70.9%.
Meanwhile, India has so far administered a cumulative 18,04,57,579 vaccinations in total. As per government data, 13,93,75,695 have been administered the first dose of the vaccine while 4,10,81,884 has been administered the second dose as well.
